PROGRAM DETAILS
Where - Training will take place at The Pima Community College Baseball facility on the west
campus and @ Centerfield Baseball Academy 1861 W Grant rd #107.
USA tournament is held in Phoenix.
When - Official workouts begin on May 17th 2009 and run through June 19th 6 days per week
USA tournament is held June 20th - June 28th
What - the USA program is designed to represent and improve Tucson baseball in every
aspect of the game. Our goal is to win the USA tournament outright. We will train 6
days/week and rest on the 7th, because we will need the rest. core training will be in
addition to the regular workouts and no team in the country will take as many quality
swings as this team will. These players will learn not only what it is like to play for a
college program but how to compete.
Why - This program is to give Tucson, and southern AZ player the opportunity for national
exposure. Centerfield believes that by training to win as a TEAM first, we can win the
West and every player on that team benefits. Our best chance to have players selected
for the national team and to get further rewards int he future is to do well in the
tournament. We wan to see Tucson and the surrounding area recognized for quality
baseball which will pave the way for player in the future.
Birth Date Requirements
Players born May 1, 1992, or later are eligible to compete in the 16U Championships. Please note, however, that only players born January 1, 1993, or later will be eligible to be selected to the 16U National Team. As such, USA Baseball requires that at least eight players on each team's roster be born on or after this international age cutoff.

8:30pm. We will prepare you for success. These

16U SELECTION PROCESS
Three ways to get your shot
First way- Be a return player or if you are not a return player to the USA program you may be invited by Head coach Ricky Scruggs Or Edgar Soto to Tryout for the program.
A Second way - Be nominated by your High school coach or club coach

A Third way- Come to our 1-day pre team workout (SAT May 16th) to qualify for any final spots
Tryout Will be held at Pima College 2:00pm-4:00pm
Cost will be $25 ($25 will be dedicated from fees if selected)
"Official" Team Workouts Begin May 17th for the Top 25 players in Tucson
Final Roster of 18-20 will be selected No later than May 30th.
Selection will not be based on ability alone, see team application for details.
What does the Program Include?
6 days/ week training in all aspects of the game for 5 weeks

Coaching by head coach with one goal- Make each individual athlete the very best they can be and put the best team possible on the field to represent Southern Arizona Baseball, no hidden agendas, no politics.
If you have trained or played with me in the past and expect any sort of favor or bias- you should think about coming out at all - this is about Tucson baseball and pure competition.
Fees and Costs
We do not want cost to prevent qualified players form participating in the USA program and representing SABA. A portion of each fee will go toward full or partial scholarships where there is need. Please Contact Coach Scruggs personally 891-0860 teamhits@gmail.com
Cost for the 5 weeks of training and 7 Games including tournament fees, gear, facility use and Pro coaching is $575
This amounts to less than $100/week for the 6 weeks of baseball including Strength and Conditioning, mental Training and a 7 game tournament. When compared to any camp or tournament this cannot be beat. Sponsors can be solicited and will recieve tax write-off based on SABA non profit status. If pre-selected a $100 non refundable registration fee is due opon registration with ballance due by may 6th (roster soft deadline) We will have between 20 and 25 players tryout as a team for 7-10 days at which time final roster of 16-18 will be chosen. Players who do not make the team will be refunded $400 for the balance of the training.
