Today there are so many choices when it comes to seeking some help in baseball or softball. There are Camps of every type, but is it helping?
Why should Centerfield earn your trust to instruct your child?
Three rock solid facts set us apart:
1) We are here for the long term success of your child.
There are no quick fixes. A three day camp with 60 kids and 8 instructors, each with there own separate subjective opinion on the best way to do things will only serve to confuse the athlete and leave them focusing on the one thing they heard that made some sense. Furthermore, any instructor who is doing this as a second job is not going to have your child's interest as there 1st priority. Even the most well meaning club ball and ASA coaches are busy preparing the team for the game this weekend. We are looking out for the future of the student, building towards their first high school or college game and we are here and accountable.
2) We do not "fix mechanics" We guide the student to discover the great swing or pitching motion that has always been there.
Many instructors or camps try to fix the student from the outside in. Our programs are build to principles that help the student work from the inside out. We show the student the big picture so that they understand what is really taking place when you hit a ball hard, use methods that let them "feel" what it is like to crush the ball naturally, with their unique signature swing. We help them form a picture of the hitter they can be and it is only a matter of team and hard work before they become that player. Many methods that are meant to "fix" young hitters and pitchers, fix them so that they never see the natural ability they started with again.
3) We get and show measured RESULTS. *Gauranteed.
We use tools like the Zelocity Pure Flight bat speed and distance radar to show measured improvement that is objective, not just the instructor saying the student really looks better than before. We use video analysis that will compare the old swing with the new more powerful swing or motion side by side, frame by frame. this is not just talk and it's guaranteed.
Where did we get our information?
Studying the game. Especially hitting. I have viewed countless video, and tested every drill I have every thought up or seen on myself, and video taped them to see if they really produce the desired result and not just some band-aid fix that "looks" better. I have said before that just because I can hit a ball 400+ feet that does not qualify me to teach hitting to your child. Just because a guy pitches in the big leagues or played some college ball, that does not mean he can help your child. Our programs are about principles that are based on what really happens on the field and what meaningful learning is all about. I have a background in training and motivating and I sat down with Jim Murphy, who has his masters in coaching. He has interview literally all of the most successful coaches in the game, and came up with methods that get the point across to athletes of all walks and all ages. Principles that we've taught to all of our instructors so that we are on the same page and that have endorsed now by students of the game and bio mechanics like Brent Strom who has recently joined with Centerfield because his pitching and my hitting philosophies alines to maximize the athletic and dynamic power from our students.
Do not spend your time and money with anyone unless they are in it for the long hail and will stand behind there methods and their instructors. If they are just promoting different guys opinions to set up some lessons or a camp then they might have a different guy next week. Any instructor at centerfield will fall in line with what your child has always been taught by us, because the philosophy is in place.
Centerfield's students will understand what is happening, what is supposed to happen (in reality), where they are and where they are going. They will see it on video and see the results and payoff for the hard work. They will learn values and a mental approach and toughness that will serve them their entire lives, and they will become better baseball and softball players.
